Frequently Asked Questions

  • Besides for DISNEY WORLD and DISNEY LAND, Shadow Jumpers does not put any restrictions pertaining to what families can request. However, not all requests are accepted and Shadow Jumpers will evaluate the impact and merit of each request on an individual basis.

  • Families are welcome to apply as many times as they like until we are able to accept one of their applications. We recommend discussing with a team member about how best to reapply after being denied.

Unfortunately, after a family has been assisted once they will not be eligible for this program again at this time.

  • Regardless of how many members of your family are photosensitive, each family is limited to 1 application per family and 1 accepted request. We suggest applying for something that will make sure to impact EVERYONE.

  • For families who have been approved for a trip, vacation or personalized experience, Shadow Jumpers will ask families to provide the basic information pertaining to their trip for Shadow Jumpers to review. This may include, dates of travel, location, lodging, proposed transportation itinerary, and even links to hopeful activities.

Shadow Jumpers will handle the executing and transaction associated with those approved items. Families never pay out of pocket for any pre travel bookings and confirmation. Families should anticipate being responsible for the expenses they encounter while on this planned trip/experience.

  • Yes! Our application is set up through Jotform and they will provide you with the opportunity to edit your application after submitting. You can make as many edits as you want until a Shadow Jumpers' team member contacts you. If you still need editing at that time please inform that SJ team member during your conversation.

  • There is no restriction on when a family can re-apply for assistance after being denied their initial application. We would recommend applying again in 4-6 months and with a completely different idea. We also recommend discussing how best to go about the re-apply process with a team member before taking the time to resubmit.

  • We want this experience to be as positive and stress free as possible. If you want to do something different than what you originally requested, you can make that change on your application. If you are farther along in the process, talk to your Shadow Jumpers team member about what your options are. If we are able to approve and provide your new idea we are happy to make it happen. If Shadow Jumpers is already deep into the planning process on your original request, a change is unlikely.

  • Families who are approved for any home modifications, will be asked to do much of the initial planning and present their plan to Shadow Jumpers for approval. Often times that will consist of a family meeting with a contractor / company in the area that they like who can then submit a proposal.

Shadow Jumpers will then work in partnership with that contractor and company for the duration of the project. NOTE: Do to the scope and cost of these large scale renovations, these applications reviews will take longer and require multiple follow ups and additional information. Most requests will not be accepted.

  • Financial relief can be, understandably, a very sensitive process and subject. As of September 2025 Shadow Jumpers no longer can assist families with past due expenses in relation to their rent/mortgage, utilities, or costs related to their primary vehicle.

Shadow Jumpers primary financial support will be with medical bills related to your family’s photosensitive condition. Families can submit an application detailing their hardship and, if accepted, can upload their bill invoices to a secure link after being approved. No need to submit such sensitive information in your initial application. Not all situations and medical bills will be approved for reimbursement. Additional details may be required.

  • We are in this to help you and your family better your situation against the sun. However, to further forward that mission we need to continue to rally support for our mission. Promoting stories of our assistance plays a role in that.

Shadow Jumpers will share a write up of your assistance on its social media and website that is pre approved by your family. We typically ask families to work with us on photos and media we can use in that story. Often times that is a photo of the group or primary child in a shadow jumpers shirt. We leave it up to families how many photos or videos they want to share and it is not a requirement (but we really do appreciate it).

For families being assisted financially, Shadow Jumpers will not use your photo or specific name/details and speak in broad terms. We understand that no one wants it publicly put out there that you may be struggling financially.
