That’s why our very primary assistance, and the type we were founded on, is providing all-expenses-paid Sun-Safe Vacations & Experiences for children and families whose lives are otherwise confined by the sun.

  • For families battling photosensitivity, the idea of “vacation” often feels out of reach. A simple day at the beach can end in pain; a sunny afternoon at a theme park is nearly impossible. Our program removes those barriers and replaces “no, we can’t” with “yes, we can.” By offering sun-safe vacations, we don’t just provide trips—we provide milestones, laughter, and lasting memories.

  • Families applying for assistance with a sun safe trip are encouraged to submit any destination except Disney World and Disney Land (which Shadow Jumpers unfortunately stopped providing assistance to in 2021). Families will need to include the specific dates they would like to travel (okay to be subject to change) and it is beneficial for families to provide initial ideas (and applicable corresponding link) to hotel and activity preference in their initial application.

    Vacation requests are approved based on a variety of factors including budget, family impact, sun safety capabilities and more.
