Pedaling with a purpose since 2020
What started as a single charity ride amongst friends at Chrome Cycle Studio in Los Angeles back on January 27th 2020 has grown into a national movement, now spanning rides in New Jersey, California, and Boston.
Entering its sixth year, riders, donors, and supporters of Spin Away the Sun have raised over $230,000 to help families impacted by photosensitivity, reaching an incredible milestone of $116,000 fundraised last year alone.

How it works
Raising Money - December 2nd to January 30th
Similar to a "Bike-a-Thon" or "Walk-a-Thon," Shadow Jumpers and our riders raise funds during an 8 week period prior to their spin class through peer-to-peer fundraising. Our riders ask friends, family and colleagues to donate directly to their fundraising page as a way to show support.
Breaking a Sweat - January 30th to February 1st
While a Bike-a-Thon or Walk-a-Thon is typically measured by distance, our Spin-a-Thon focuses on time. Participants at each of our locations will unite during the weekend of January 30th for a continuous 2.5-hour spin class. We estimate that each of our riders will cycle between 45-50 miles during their event.
