A waterpark Sun Safe Weekend

Charlotte and Gary Brandenburg have dedicated their lives to fostering children. That includes Skylar and Kagen, biological siblings who live with rare photosensitive condition known as Xeroderma Pigmentosum (XP).

XP makes even a second of sunlight dangerous. To celebrate their resilience, Shadow Jumpers surprised the Brandenburgs with an all-expenses-paid, indoor vacation. Before the trip, we sent the Kentucky based family a special kickoff package filled with toys, gifts, and the big reveal: they were headed to Great Wolf Lodge!

Once there, Skylar and Kagen stayed in the Deluxe Wolf Den Suite, played for hours in the indoor water park (no protective gear required!), and enjoyed everything from arcade games to Build-a-Bear to ice cream — all without having to gear up or worry about the harmful UV rays

For at least one special weekend, they were just kids. No protective suits. No fear. Just fun.
